Headband

Yesterday I forgot to post that along with my scarf I made a matching headband out of the purple yarn. Again, I did not use a pattern for this headband, but here are the steps I did to make it:

  1. Cast on 14 stitches on size 7 needles
  2. Knit until you can wrap the headband around your head.
  3. Sew ends together with yarn
I made this headband wider because I personally like larger headbands. One thing that I learned from this project is that I should have stopped knitting a little sooner because this yarn is stretchy so it's a little big.

First Project

Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know that I finished my first knitting project this weekend. For the past week I have been working on a scarf. To make the scarf I didn't use a pattern. But here are the steps to making what I consider a beginner level infinity scarf.

  1. Use size 10 needles and cast on 22.
  2. Knit Stitch all the way through. (Make sure you knit loose)
  3. Use 4 skeins of yarn
  4. Cast off and sew together in the end.
This first project was an experiment and turned out better than I thought it would. When I changed yarn I didn't take into play that the purple yarn is a lot thinner than the pink yarn. I didn't think that it would matter that much but I learned that I did. Comment below if you have any questions or anything you would like to comment on about my first project!

About Me

Hello,  my name is Katie and I am a knitting addict.  Even though I'm not at "knitting addict"status, I would say that I love it. I am not an expert yet but I hope to work my way up to the top. I will post different projects that I am working on, patterns, and interviews of different yarn shop owners. Welcome to Knitting with Katie!
