I finished my second headband this morning. This time to make it different from the last headband I used a bulkier yarn. This made the headband larger than the other one. If I had to choose between the two headbands I would prefer the blue, chunkier headband. I like larger headbands over smaller ones and plus I feel like with the larger yarn size you can see a more defined cable. Although, this could be because it's a bigger cable because of the larger yarn. One thing that I would have done differently with this headband is that I forgot to sew the two ends together with the seam facing the inside of the headband.

Cabled Headband Project
I finished the first headband out of my headband project this morning! For this headband I used a dark grey alpaca yarn that I bought at a craft show. This headband took a little while for me to make because I have been busier lately and I had to start over many times because this was a new type of knitting for me. For this pattern I had to learn how to actually use a pattern, how to cable stitch and purl, how to use circular needles, and how to use a counter. I started using size 15 needles instead of size 13 like the pattern asks for because, I can sometimes be a tight knitter. This ended up being way too loose so I switched back to size 13. I also learned that a counter can be very handy even if you are really good at knitting. Overall, this headband is a little looser than I would like it to be but other that I am very satisfied with the outcome.

Next Project
Hi guys, I am now going to start a new knitting project. I found a pattern of a cabled headband this weekend. For this project I am planning on knitting multiple headbands but still using the same pattern. I hope to learn through this project by comparing the different headbands because each one will be using a different yarn/ yarn type.

Here is the link to pattern if you want to knit along with me. :)

Headband
- Cast on 14 stitches on size 7 needles
- Knit until you can wrap the headband around your head.
- Sew ends together with yarn
I made this headband wider because I personally like larger headbands. One thing that I learned from this project is that I should have stopped knitting a little sooner because this yarn is stretchy so it's a little big.

First Project
Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know that I finished my first knitting project this weekend. For the past week I have been working on a scarf. To make the scarf I didn't use a pattern. But here are the steps to making what I consider a beginner level infinity scarf.
- Use size 10 needles and cast on 22.
- Knit Stitch all the way through. (Make sure you knit loose)
- Use 4 skeins of yarn
- Cast off and sew together in the end.
This first project was an experiment and turned out better than I thought it would. When I changed yarn I didn't take into play that the purple yarn is a lot thinner than the pink yarn. I didn't think that it would matter that much but I learned that I did. Comment below if you have any questions or anything you would like to comment on about my first project!

About Me
Hello, my name is Katie and I am a knitting addict. Even though I'm not at "knitting addict"status, I would say that I love it. I am not an expert yet but I hope to work my way up to the top. I will post different projects that I am working on, patterns, and interviews of different yarn shop owners. Welcome to Knitting with Katie!
